Our Vegas Wedding on Marilyn's Birthday

Finally feel caught up on all the sleep I lost in Vegas.  It truly is a city that never sleeps.  I think they must pump oxygen into the rooms because whenever I went back to the room for a nap I was wide awake in 10 minutes.  It was the trip of a lifetime and everything went off without a hitch so I was thankful for that.  Still waiting for all the professional photos to come back in a few weeks.  In the meantime, here are a few shots.

Susan Griffiths was my beautiful bridesmaid. I am just so honoured that she would do this for me.  I can't wait to get the pro photos from this shot.



We were married at Chapel of the Flowers.  It was a beautiful chapel and I highly recommend it.

Waking Up in Vegas - Wedding Day!

Can't sleep anymore as today is the big day - no not just Marilyn's birthday - but the wedding countdown is finally over.  It has been almost a year of planning and I can't believe it is here.   Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and no worries I will post photos.

Julien's Auctions - Anna Nicole Smith & Marilyn Monroe

Each year in June, an auction is held that contains amazing Marilyn Monroe items.  I purchased my Marilyn Monroe hat from Julien's.  The current auction is taking place in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood on June 26 and 27.  I'm disappointed that I'll be missing the public exhibit of the items by just a few days, as I'll be in Vegas for my wedding.

Lots of Marilyn items including those from the estate of Dr. Ralph Greenson.  Items include;  Funeral program and chest ex-ray (which I already posted about HERE).

There is a whole section on Anna Nicole Smith's items.  I was amazed to see all of the Marilyn items she had.  There are even pieces of furniture she had custom made with portraits of Marilyn.  It is apparent that she was a true fan.

I received this email and thought I'd pass it on.

"As we are sure you know, Marilyn's birthday is coming up on June 1st, but what you may not know, is that there is a huge group birthday bash being planned in New York City for Friday June 4th, 2010.

We are inviting all her fans to come dressed as Marilyn and meet at Madison Square Park for music, entertainment and other Marilyn related activites.  We are trying to get New York to stop and stare at the sight of this many Marilyns in one place honoring the legend as she deserves to be honored.

Here's to Marilyn turning 84 and being just as fabulous as ever! "

I wanted to apologize for the lack of podcasts and updates to the website. Note: to those who have sent in tattoo photos - I haven't forgotten about you!

I am occupied these days with Vegas wedding plans as my big day is coming soon. It is a little stressful arranging everything over the internet - so hopefully it all goes well :)

Marilyn Monroe's Chest X-Ray

Yeah, you read the title right.  They are actually auctioning off a chest x-ray (and several pelvic ones too) supposedly of Marilyn taken November 10, 1954. She was admitted to the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital for surgery for endometriosis. The doctor apparently later used the x-ray in lectures to students and more recently left the x-ray to his daughter who is putting it up for sale. It is expected to sell for up to $1,200 by Juliens Auctions on June 26.
